About Scottish Highland Creamery

We’re in the business of serving happiness & creating memories.

At the Scottish Highland Creamery, our recipe is simple—just like our business philosophy. We believe in sourcing the best ingredients, using time-honored techniques, and serving our products with smiling faces to a community that we love. It’s why our ice cream tastes so good, and what sets our business apart!

We are passionate about our products, we love making people of all ages happy, and we love the Eastern Shore! We like to think that our ice cream is wholesome and fun for everyone, made thoughtfully and with a love for the craft—a little scoop of happiness from our family to yours—and we are grateful to the community for embracing us from our very first scoop.

A Brief History:

2023—Our New Home @ The Mews, Soft Serve @ The Window, and Cakes!

In 2023 we renovated The Oxford Mews (103 S. Morris Street), a historic building in the heart of the Town of Oxford and across from the family friendly, waterfront Town Park. The renovation allowed us to expand our operation both in range of flavors and hours of operation! We were now able to offer 20 flavors of hand-dipped ice cream, indoor seating, and waterfront park views! We also introduced two new products: custom made ice cream cakes to celebrate special occasions and premium Scottish Highland Creamery soft serve ice cream! Using the same ingredients and recipes as our hard ice cream, we were able to create a line of high-quality soft serve ice cream to serve at “the Window” (our original take-away window at 314 Tilghman Street)!

2018—We open our sister store, The Oxford Social Café

As the demand for our ice cream grew, we knew we needed a way to sell our ice cream year-round! And since Oxford didn’t have a coffee shop, we decided to renovate a historic building in the center of Oxford and open our sister store, The Oxford Social Café. At “the Social” we sell locally sourced coffee, pastries, frozen meals, and of course, our ice cream in pints and quarts!

2013—The year everything changed!

We often call this year the year that everything changed! In 2013 we were rated #5 in the country for best small batch ice cream by TripAdvisor, an accolade that drew customers in from all over the country!

2005—The year it all began!

This was the year it all began. Victor and his wife Susan opened “the Window” at 314 Tilghman Street in 2005.
I was able to take advantage of their Valentine's Day ordering, and my husband was soooo surprised with his Salted Caramel Ice Cream!!! The best purchase was the Valentine's Cake they offered, and with a limit of 20 available, I was one of the lucky ones. The cake was sublime! It had luscious layers of various ice creams, and the hidden gem was the gooey fudge section, almost like hot fudge, minus the hot!!! The best $40 I've spent in a very long time ( as an Instacart Shopper, it took me 2 orders to pay for it, but well worth the extra effort it took me)!!! I'm definitely looking forward to their spring opening. I highly recommend that if you're in the area of Oxford, MD, it is a MUST STOP!! They also have a sister eatery just across the street, Oxford Social Cafe. I have not eaten their but it looks like a very nice hometown place to enjoy. Both locations will invoke memories of a time long gone. We need more local establishments like this in our communities!!! Support your local businesses. They need us more than ever!!!

I can't, I just can't even get started. The ice cream is glorious, the best I've ever tasted. Victor takes his craft seriously. Just go, it's worth every inch of the trip. Best picks: The lemon sorbet. It's not ice cream so much as it is a delicate snow made of lemon fairy magic that disappears instantly and leave a lemony scent behind. Or close your eyes and pick at random. It's revelatory.

Visited my Grandparents for the holiday and we were in the mood for icecream. We started looking on Google for local options, this spot was about half hour away but my Grandfather said he’ll make the trip just for the icecream! So we bundled up and started the drive. So glad we took the mini road trip. Super sweet staff. Lots of exciting flavors. Thankful for samples because it was hard to make up our minds. Our personal favorites: —Apple Cidar Sorbet —Peaches and Cream (in a shake) —Dark chocolate salted caramel —Coffee cake (I think? It was great haha) —Espresso The whole family approved! We’re not local but next trip in the area we’ll be back — maybe in the summertime when we can walk around and enjoy a sunset ;)
